Lady Lawyers Committee
The Lady Lawyers Committee of the Barcelona Bar Association carries out a multi-field task for the defence, surveillance and diffusion of all those aspects of everyday life regarding or concerning women.
The committee has a standing working commission, and they regularly hold general meetings with all the registered lady lawyers. In 1984 the Committee hosted at Barcelona the first State Congress of Lady Lawyers. Since then it is held annually in different cities of Spain. The Committee's task is to study and discuss all those acts and bills concerning women, as well as their implementation.
During the year it holds gender-oriented meetings,conferences, and discussions, taking account not only of legal aspects but also of historical, psychological and social perspectives. It als provides legal support to other groups or associations working on issues concerning women.
